What You'll Need
- Paper
- Pen or pencil
- A grown-up to help you find short, safe videos online (like animal videos or simple craft tutorials)
Mission Steps
- Choose a Video. With your grown-up, find a short, safe video online that shows something happening.
- Observe Carefully. Watch the video closely. What do you see happening? What do you hear?
- Note the Details. Write down or draw everything you observe. Think about what is happening, how it is happening, and what the outcome is.
- Predict the Outcome. Based on what you saw, what do you think will happen next? Is it safe for someone to try?
- Discuss the Safety. Talk with your grown-up about why you think your prediction is correct and whether the activity in the video seems safe or unsafe.

- What did you observe in the video?
- How did your observations help you decide if the activity was safe?
- Can you think of other situations where careful observation helps keep you safe?
Take It Further
For older Rangers (ages 9-12), try watching short clips of simple science experiments. Can you predict the results based on the materials used and the steps shown? Research the science behind why the experiment works the way it does, and discuss if there were any safety precautions the video creator took (or should have taken).
